In the FA (Factory Automation) industry, the role of machine vision systems is to monitor products in real-time using cameras, automatically detecting defects and correcting positions.

Machine vision systems are widely used in semiconductor and flat-panel display processes, and they are now also being actively utilized in the secondary battery sector. Recently, they have become an important partner for LG Energy Solution, a key manufacturer of secondary batteries essential for electric vehicles.

The production process for secondary batteries is broadly divided into electrode, assembly, and activation processes, each of which requires various inspection technologies.

GLIM develops and supplies systems for surface appearance inspection, upper and lower mismatch inspection, and thickness measurement with precision below 1 µm in the electrode process. Additionally, GLIM offers solutions for visual and full-size inspection after the initial pouch assembly process, as well as comprehensive appearance and dimensional inspection solutions for the winder process.
